When the distraught family reached the Las Piñas Medical Center, Abugan was soon declared dead by physicians.
Police call it a victims "dying declaration".
Before Abugan died, he identified his assailant as Ricardo Rancasaco Jr., according to Superintendent Efrain Sindico, chief of the Las Piñas police Station Investigation Division (SID).
Rancasaco, 19, jobless, of Block 27 Lot 10 Chesa St., Golden Acres, Talon, Las Piñas, remains at large.
Police records showed that the incident happened at around 7:45 p.m. Thursday along Strawberry Street, also in Golden Acres.
Sindico said that Abugan, a bus conductor and a resident of Marang Street, Golden Acres, was walking along Strawberry Street to buy some medicine when the suspect appeared, armed with a knife. Without warning, Rancasaco allegedly stabbed the victim in different parts of his body.
According to Sindico, investigators have gathered that a month ago, the suspect was stabbed reportedly by Abugans brother. He said while the motive behind the incident is still not clear, it appears that Rancasaco attacked Abugan for revenge. Nikko Dizon
