Woman trader loses over P1 million in cash

-
A businesswoman lost more than P1 million in cash to four suspects masquerading as policemen in Makati City the other day.

SPO4 Roberto Hizon identified the victim as Emelia Puno, 51, married, a resident of 8 Nightingale St., Quezon City.

Puno said that she was with her employee Crisanto Derilo along Herrera, corner Dela Rosa St. in Makati City at around 2:15 p.m. last Thursday when a car stopped in front of them and blocked their path. She described the vehicle as a blue Toyota DX model which had four men on board. The four men introduced themselves as members of the Philippine National Police and ordered them to board the car.

Puno said the car went all the way to the Fil-Invest subdivision in Muntinlupa City where they were directed to get off. However, before they got off, the men took the P800,000 and $4,000 in cash the two victims had in a bag.

Investigators claimed that the money may have been the payroll of the employees of Puno.

The police are looking into the other employees of Puno as possible suspects. Marvin Sy
