Makati police recovers slay gun of vice mayor’s lover

The Makati Police have recovered the gun allegedly used by the live-in partner of Makati vice-mayor Ernesto Marcado to commit suicide.

SPO4 Leonardo Timtiman, chief of the Makati Police Homicide Division, said that a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol was turned over the other day to the office of Chief of Police Superintendent Jovito Gutierrez.

A certain Ferdie Estrella, who is reportedly the chief of staff of the vice-mayor, handed the gun over to the chief of police nearly a day after the investigators reported the gun missing.

PO2 Juancho Ibis, who accompanied Timtiman in investigating the crime scene last Thursday morning, pointed out that the room of the victim, 24-year-old Raquel Ambrosio had already been cleaned by the housemaids.

The gun that was supposedly used by the victim was not found in her room at the 28th floor of the Peak Tower along L.P. Leviste St., Salcedo Village, Makati City.

When the investigators went to the Makati Medical Center to secure a copy of the medical report, the doctors refused, citing that only the immediate family of Ambrosio could authorize the release of the report.

The Makati Police has submitted the recovered gun to the Philippine National Police firearms licensing division in Camp Crame to determine the true owner.

According to Timtiman, the body of Ambrosio is currently at the PNP Crime Lab undergoing an autopsy.

The Makati Police is not ruling out the possibility of foul play until the investigation has been concluded. However, based on the initial investigation of the police, there is still no evidence of foul play.
