Identity of murdered woman in cab sought

-
The Makati police are stumped in identifying a woman found murdered in an abandoned taxi cab last Tuesday afternoon.

SPO4 Leonardo Timtiman, chief of the Homicide Division of the Makati Police, said that no articles of identification were found on the body of the victim when she was discovered.

The incident was reported late Tuesday afternoon when the abandoned R&E Taxi (PWM-532) was spotted by passers-by on Meliguas corner Camia Streets, Barangay Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City. A woman aged 30 to 35 years old, Chinese mestiza-looking, with blonde-tinted hair, wearing brown pants and an orange long-sleeved blouse, was seen slumped in the back seat of the cab. Investigators noted that the victim bore bullet wounds in her neck and right hand.

Moments after the discovery of the victim, the driver of the taxi, Ronilo Canlas, appeared in the Makati police headquarters and narrated the entire incident to the investigators.

According to Canlas, he picked up a passenger at Robinson’s Galleria at around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday and was instructed to pick up two companions nearby.

A woman accompanied by a man entered the taxi at the other side of the Galleria and according to the driver, were engaged in an argument. Canlas said he heard the woman asking her companion why she was issued an arrest warrant when she did nothing wrong. The man beside her identified himself as a police officer from Camp Crame and told the woman that she was involved in a big case.

At this point, Canlas was told to proceed to the Pasig City Hall and keep his eyes on the road at all times.

When the taxi reached C-5 Road near the fly-over in Pasig City, Canlas said that the arguing died down and then two gunshots were heard. Marvin Sy
