Sergeant rapes Army colonel’s daughter

An Army master sergeant who drives for the Army chaplain in Fort Bonifacio has been arrested by the Taguig police for allegedly raping the 19-year-old daughter of an Army colonel behind the Army camp’s Catholic chapel.

The identity of the suspect and the victim could not, however, be confirmed as of press time but the Taguig municipal jail has confirmed the detention of the 53-year-old offender on rape charges.

Taguig Investigation Division chief Inspector Ver Pagtama said the rape happened behind the Fort Bonifacio chapel at about 9 p.m. over the weekend. Details of the case were not immediately available as Taguig Women’s and Children’s Desk chief Senior Police Officer 4 Eufemia Genio reportedly did not provide a copy of the incident report to Pagtama.

Meanwhile, a 66-year-old man was jailed by the Taguig police after reportedly engaging a 15-year-old girl in a gin-drinking bout before carrying out the last of his reported rapes. Pagtama said the girl revealed that she had been raped by the old man as early as January for as many as eight times.

The suspect was identified as Adriano Galidre of west Bicutan, Taguig. He was collared by his own neighbors after his victim ran out of their house naked early yesterday after waking up from being knocked out during their drinking spree.

"It was the victim’s own money that was used by the suspect to buy the gin used to carry out the rape," said Pagtama. – Jose Aravilla
