A 38-year-old robbery suspect was killed while three others were arrested by members of the Central Police District after a shootout Friday night in Barangay Pag-asa, Quezon City.
Police identified the fatality as Edilberto Malinao, of Chronicle St., Lucia Village in Las Piñas while the three arrested were Ramon Lumaig, 32 years old; Randy Villanueva 37; and Jeorabel Gomez, 22 years old, all of Barangay Pag-asa.
Police reports showed that PO3 Carlos Adun, a member of the CPD-Mobile Group, allegedly spotted Malinao carrying a gun at around 8 p.m. last Friday in Barangay Pag-asa and accosted him.
But instead of submitting himself to inspection, Malinao allegedly attempted to attack the policeman. Adun allegedly called for back up but before his follow cops arrived, he shot Malinao, who died on the spot.
The three other suspects, who were believed to be companions of Malinao, were arrested and are now detained at CPDs Baler Station.
