A man was killed while his companion was seriously wounded after they were shot by three men in Sta. Ana, Manila, early morning yesterday.
Police investigators identified the fatality as Rodolfo Lozada, 32, of 2377 Interior, Pasig Line Sta. Ana.
He died at the Philippine General Hospital while being treated for a gunshot wound in the neck.
His wounded companion was identified as Elmer Salinas, 41, also of the same address, a police report said. He is now confined at the PGH after sustaining two gunshot wounds in the neck.
Police probers identified the suspects as Christopher Serrano, Neil Dacanay and a certain Mike, all residents of Sta. Ana.
Initial police investigation showed that Lozada and Salinas and three other companions were drinking near their house at about 12:30 a.m. when Serrano, who police said, appeared to be high on drugs, appeared and uttered some invectives at them. The victims, who were already drunk, returned the invectives at Serrano. Cooler heads intervened and the heated argument was pacified.
Police said Serrano then left the scene but returned minutes later with the two other suspects. Police said the suspects then drew their handguns and opened fire at the victims. Mike Frialde
