Police rounded up six people, three of them women, while sniffing shabu and selling dried marijuana leaves in separate raids during the EDSA People Power 1 celebrations Monday.
The suspects yielded a kilo of dried marijuana leaves and a small amount of shabu, said Superintendent Romeo Abaring, chief of the Eastern Police District (EPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).
Abaring identified those arrested as college students, Shenna Cardova, 20 and her classmate, Dorothy Papiza; Jinky de Leon, 27; Wilfredo Adenig, 23; Alrose Estabaya, 20, and Ricky de Leon, 33.
First to fall were Cardova and Papiza. Because the government canceled classes Monday to give way to the EDSA celebrations, Papiza came to visit Cardova in her house at Lansones street in Barangay Napico, Pasig City at noon Monday.
Using their allowance for the day, the suspects decided to purchase a small amount of shabu. They were caught by Abarings men while in the act of sniffing shabu inside a vacant house in Barangay Napico. Non Alquitran
