Man stabbed dead in front of girlfriend

-
A 26-year-old man’s Valentine’s dream date turned into nightmare after he was robbed and stabbed dead the other night in Quezon City by two still unidentified men in front of his girlfriend.

Galuego Demeperio, of 2-B, Luna St., San Juan, Metro Manila, sustained a stab wound in the body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the East Avenue Medical Center. The killers, described as men in their late 20s, fled after the stabbing, taking with them the weapon they used and Demperio’s clutch bag, which contained his personal belongings.

Initial reports showed that the incident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. along Elliptical Road near East Avenue, Barangay Central, Quezon City. Demperio and his girlfriend, Rosemarie Moras, had just gone from what she described as a "dream date" and were walking along the said area when the two robbers blocked their path.

One of the men grabbed Demperio’s clutch bag. When the victim put up a fight, the killers pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed Demperio in the right side of his chest, as Moras helplessly watched.

The victim collapsed to the ground as the two men immediately fled the scene. Moras screamed for help and Demperio was rushed to the hospital where he died at about 10:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, police are now hunting down two suspected drug addicts after they stabbed dead yesterday morning an 18-year-old student outside his home in Pinyahan, Quezon City.

Ronnie Sagasta, a resident of Makisig St., Barangay Pinyahan, had his throat slashed and was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians at the East Avenue Medical Center.

The suspects, Ricardo Ricafort and Miguel Gregorio, both of 779 EDSA, Quezon City, are now the subjects of manhunt operations being conducted by the Central Police District. – Matthew Estabillo
