Girl says ex-beau raped her

A 16-year-old student accused her former boyfriend of allegedly forcing her to drink liquor, getting her drunk and later raping her in a motel room Tuesday night in Caloocan City.

The victim, a resident of Balagtas Street, Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City, told police she was sexually molested by Elmer Ancheta, 30, her neighbor.

Inspector Marcelo Mariano, chief of the follow-up and detective unit, said that his men are now looking for the suspect who abandoned the girl after the alleged rape.

Investigation showed that at about 9 p.m. the victim and a friend were walking on their way home when they met the suspect. According to the victim, Ancheta invited them to go with him to a nearby friend’s house. She said they readily accepted trusting that no harm would befall them. After all, the suspect was the victim’s former boyfriend.

When they got to the place, they noticed several men having a drinking session. The victim said they were then forced by the suspect to drink. She claimed that they were threatened with bodily harm if they refused.

After a few rounds of drinks, she passed out. When she came to her senses, she found herself naked and alone in an airconditioned room of the Hidden Garden Motel along the Bagong Barrio motel row. She knew then that she had been raped.

The victim immediately narrated her ordeal to her parents, who accompanied her to the police, to file rape charges against Ancheta.

Meanwhile, a Caloocan City court sentenced a 61-year-old carpenter to a life term for raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter five years ago.

Caloocan City Judge Silvestro Bello Jr. also ordered Rogelio Arsayo, married, of 219 8th Avenue Extension, Barrio Galino, to pay the victim a total of P125,000 as damages.

The victim, who is now 18 years old, told the court she was studying her lessons at around 5:15 p.m. of Nov. 6, 1997, when her stepfather, taking advantage of the absence of her mother who was working at a nearby day-care center, raped her. – Jerry Botial
