A suspected prostitution house in Tondo, Manila was raided early dawn yesterday by operatives of the Western Police Districts Special Operations Group (WPD-SOG) resulting in the arrest of the alleged maintainer of the joint and four of her male pimps.
Three alleged female sex workers, aged 18 to 19, were also nabbed by the raiding team while reportedly waiting for customers in separate rooms of a house at 559 Road 1, Fernandez st., Gagalangin, Tondo.
WPD-SOG operations head Chief Inspector Antonio Entico identified the alleged maintainer as Emma Salinas, 34. The suspected pimps were identified as Rolando Caindo, 25; Roy Paderanga, 21; Edmund Galero, 22; and Jerry Ramos, 22.
Entico said the three women pointed to the suspects as the persons who recruited them in Samar province, promising them jobs as commercial models.
However, when they reached Manila they were detained at Salinas house, turned into sex slaves and offered to male customers for fees ranging from P600 to P1,500.
Entico added Salinas was arrested by the police in the past for the same offense but continued with her illegal activities after posting bail.
New white slavery charges will be filed against Salinas and her male cohorts while their victims will be brought to the Department of Social Welfare and Services for rehabilitation and counselling, Entico said. Nestor Etolle
