Cops blame Doromal in Strawberry slay case

The Las Piñas City police have wrapped up its investigation on the killing of former child actress Strawberry, pinning all the blame on her boyfriend and his alleged security men.
But as police admitted themselves, their probe is a one-sided one owing to the failure of Strawberrys boyfriend, John Mark Doromal to cooperate with police.
"We have witnesses who can identify them as those who fired at her car," said Las Piñas deputy chief for investigation Inspector Sergio Gaarrobo.
The Las Piñas City police, though, could not put their conclusion to any legal use as Strawberrys family appears not to have confidence in the credibility of their probe.
Strawberry, Anouk Baldo, 25, in real life was shot inside the car of Doromal last Dec. 18 during a melee involving him and a family surnamed Picar in a subdivision in Las Piñas.
The Dec. 18 incident was an offshoot of an earlier traffic altercation between Doromal and the patriarch of the Picar family. Doromals father is said to own a security agency.
Doromal has insisted on his innocence in the case and is known to be cooperating with the National Bureau of Investigation and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
The Las Piñas City police have earlier filed attempted murder charges against Doromal and four of his security men for the same incident after the Picars claimed that they too were fired at but were not hit.
The attempted murder case is now pending at the City Prosecutors Office. A preliminary investigation was set for today by the prosecutor handling the case. Jose Aravilla
