Over P1-million worth of property and valuables were razed in a fire that hit a trophy factory in Caloocan City on Christmas Day.
Caloocan City Fire chief Inspector Agapito Nacario said the fire was reported at 5:14 in the afternoon and was reported to have started at the R/G Trophy factory on 88 11th Street, 11th Avenue. The firm is said to be owned by Rodrigo Gutierrez, 60.
Firemen said no one was reported injured in the fire.
Trophies and wooden materials, generally highly combustible, easily ignited as the fire quickly spread to adjoining rooms, investigators said.
Witnesses said they saw some neighborhood children playing in the place shortly before the fire. The fire was declared out at 5:55 in the afternoon. Jerry Botial
