NBI summons Strunk

Rod Lauren Strunk, the husband of murdered actress Nida Blanca is to appear before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) within this week.

According to a source, NBI agents working on Blanca’s murder decided to summon Strunk, to answer questions that could lead to the solution of the Nov. 7 killing.

The source, however, refused to reveal the matters to be asked of Strunk. Strunk was earlier implicated by Philip "Jun" Medel Jr., as the mastermind of Blanca’s murder. The controversial self-confessed killer, however, retracted the accusation and claimed he was tortured by the police into implicating Strunk.

The Department of Justice was forced to drop the murder charges against Strunk, which was anchored solely on Medel’s testimony.

With Medel’s retraction, investigators were virtually back to square one.

NBI Director Reynaldo Wycoco earlier said that the bureau has not yet cleared anybody and that they are still looking into all possible angles. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
