Five hurt as debris fall on Tondo shanty

Five persons, including a three-year-old girl, were slightly hurt after debris from the 18th floor of an annex building of a hospital in Tondo, Manila which is being constructed, fell on their barong-barong early yesterday morning.
Police identified those wounded as Ricardo de Guzman, 20; Sheena Mata, 3; Alexander Mata, 25; Marilou Mata, 21; and Danilo Facundo, 50, all staying at 1314 Mayhaligue St. in Tondo when the incident happened.
According to police, at about 3 a.m. yesterday, debris from the 18th floor of the annex building of the Metropolitan Hospital along Masangkay street were apparently loosened by a heavy downpour.
Police said the debris fell on the house of the victims located at the back of the hospitals 19 floor annex building.
The victims who sustained slight cuts and contusions are now being treated at the Metropolitan Hospital. Mike Frialde
