Peacemaker slain in QC

A coming out birthday party turned into a horrifying crime scene after the debutantes older brother was stabbed dead while trying to pacify their warring friends Friday night in Bago Bantay, Quezon City.
Ricardo Hermios, 21, laborer, of 53 Cotabato St., Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, Bago Bantay, sustained a stab wound in the left portion of his abdomen, police said. He died while undergoing surgery at the Quezon City General Hospital.
Hermios sister, Susan, was celebrating her 18th birthday when the incident happened.
Investigation showed that two groups of the Hermios visitors were on their way home from the party at around 7:30 p.m. when a fight broke out between them upon reaching the corner of Cotabato and Bukidnon streets.
After being told that their friends were having a fight, Hermios left the party and rushed out to pacify them. However, one of them, only known by his alias "Culet", vented his ire on Hermios, pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed the peacemaker.
The suspect immediately fled, taking with him the fatal weapon. Nikko Dizon
