Wilfredo Bersecola was declared dead at the Las Piñas District Hospital due to gunshot wounds he sustained in the left cheek and right eye from a still undetermined firearm. The bullet exited through his head.
The gunman, identified as Ninoy dela Cruz, escaped after the shooting, with his firearm. Based on the investigation of Senior Police Officer 1 Alberto Parena of the Parañaque City police, the killing happened at about 3 a.m. along Tramo street, Barangay San Dionisio, Pasay City. Bersecola, a resident of Las Piñas, was reportedly sitting in the drivers seat of his parked jeepney when the victim approached him from behind.
Parañaque City Police Station Investigation Division chief inspector Glenn Tigson said the suspect first called out the name of the victim and when the latter turned around to look, he was shot point blank. Jose Aravilla
