Manila widow killed by speeding truck

A 65-year-old widow was killed after she was ran over by a speeding 10-wheeler truck in Pandacan, Manila the other day.
Reports reaching the Traffic Enforcement Group of the Western Police District identified the victim as Rita Rufin, a resident of Interior 4, Gonzalez St., Pandacan.
Police said the truck driver, Eric Cargas, 40, of 130-C Pasong Tamo, Tandang Sora, Quezon City, surrendered shortly after the incident and is now detained at the WPD-TEG headquarters detention cell.
Cargas, a native of Negros Occidental and a high school graduate, faces charges of homicide through reckless imprudence, police said. Mike Frialde
