2 nabbed for payroll rob

Two men were arrested after robbing a messenger of a garment factory of more than P300,000 in payroll money Friday morning in Sitio Puting Bato, Navotas.
Police identified the suspects as Sammy Espina, 28, and Pepe Caparosa, 23, both of Langaray street, Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City. The suspects were positively identified by their victim, Geraldo Malaga, 40, stay-in messenger of Western Garment Factory on Lapu-Lapu Avenue in Dagat-Dagatan, in a confrontation at the police station.
Police sources also said the arresting team allegedly failed to recover P76,000 of the stolen money. Navotas police chief Superintendent Roberto Villanueva said he will look into the veracity of the information.
Authorities said the incident happened at around 10:45 a.m. when the suspects, armed with a caliber .45 pistol and a fan knife, blocked and robbed the victim who was on board his motorcycle along North Bay Boulevard near the Frabelle Fishing Corp. premises. Jerry Botial
