Man mauled by 3 couples in Novaliches

-
A 30-year-old man is now in critical condition after he was mauled by three couples over an old grudge in Novaliches, Quezon City Thursday.

Victim Ricky Pablo, a resident of 14 Nazario Street, Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, sustained serious head and body injuries and is undergoing treatment at the Manila University Hospital.

The suspects, Alberto and Marlyn Dizon, Ernesto Pangindian and his wife Catherine, and Roman and Gregoria Viray, allegedly beat up the victim with lead pipes. They are now being hunted by operatives of the Central Police District.

According to PO2 Edwin dela Cruz, the incident occurred at about 5 p.m. in a street in Barangay Gulod.

Pablo was reportedly walking home and stopped by a store to buy some cigarettes when the suspects confronted him.

Dela Cruz said the suspects had an old grudge against Pablo. He did not elaborate.

Without saying a word, the couples started attacking Pablo and hit him with lead pipes.

The timely arrival of the Pablo’s wife, Maria, prevented further harm that could have led to Pablo’s death. Despite that, the victim suffered serious injuries, particularly on his head, where he was bludgeoned several times.

Maria pleaded with the suspects but they stopped only when Pablo started bleeding profusely.

Also in Novaliches, a 35 year-old housewife hanged herself to death yesterday in a construction site where her husband works after she had a minor altercation with him.

Alona Aquino’s lifeless body was found hanging at the second floor of a building still under construction at Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Her husband Lamberto found his wife dead with an electrical wire tied around her neck. Investigators said that the night before, the Aquinos had a minor fight over money. – Matthew Estabillo
