Ex-cop slain over unpaid bills
September 24, 2001 | 12:00am
Police are now hunting down a still unidentified-armed man who shot dead a former policeman after a heated argument over unpaid electric bills in Quezon City.
Victim Miguelito Cagunsod, 43, a resident of NPC Mendez Road, Barangay Baesa, sustained bullet wounds in the body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Quezon City General Hospital.
The gunman, known only as a certain "Allan," was Cagunsods roommate who fled right after the shooting, taking with him a homemade shotgun.
The shooting occurred at about 7:45 p.m. inside their rented apartment in Barangay Baesa. Cagunsod, apparently miffed that Allan has not been giving his share in the payment of their electric bills, decided to confront the latter and berated him for his idleness. A heated argument ensued between the two, wherein the suspect shot Cagunsod twice in the stomach and fled. Matthew Estabillo
