Police inspector robbed of gun in FX taxi

A police lieutenant was robbed of his service firearm and other valuables by fellow passengers of a Mega taxi during a heavy downpour Friday night in Bulacan and dumped with two other victims in Caloocan City.

Police Inspector Jovencio Torres, assigned at the National Police Commission (Napolcom), was divested of his caliber .45 pistol, a wristwatch valued at P30,000 and two diamond rings worth P33,000.

Crisanto de los Reyes, 40, was robbed of his white GL Adventure Mega taxi with plate number WPD-267, a necklace and a wedding ring worth P13,000 and P1,000 in cash, while Elaine Agleron, 22, employee, lost a cellphone and a wristwatch.

The heist occurred along Malhakan Road in Meycauayan Exit, Bulacan at around 9:30 p.m. After divesting the victims of their cash and valuables, the suspects forced the victims out of the vehicle and sped off with their loot.

In Valenzuela City, four armed men also robbed a businessman of cash and jewelry at about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Eduardo Edep, 43, his wife Villian, 38, and brother-in-law Perfecto Llanza, all of 1033 M. Bernardino street, Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City, were hog-tied by the suspects. The robbers took P50,000 in cash, jewelry worth P160,000, clothes and two cellphones. – Pete Laude and Jerry Botial
