Police arrested four alleged carnappers and recovered from them three stolen motorcycles during a raid at the group’s lair Saturday afternoon in Valenzuela City.

Superintendent Nemesio Neron, Valenzuela City police chief, identified the suspects as Danilo Rosario, 24; Pepito Matias, 29; Larry Santiago, 28, and Joey Llorano, 26, all of Canumay West, Valenzuela City.

The suspects were arrested at their hideout at T. Santiago street in Canumay West where three stolen Yamaha scooters were recovered.

Meanwhile, the Valenzuela police’s reinvigorated campaign against illegal gambling in the city resulted in the arrest of 12 more jueteng personnel Friday.

This brought to 46 the number of persons involved in jueteng arrested in one week.

The police cracked down on at least four suspected jueteng dens in Barangays Viente Realies, Puturin and Malinta.

In Manila, acting on complaints by concerned residents of the proliferation of pimps and callboys on A.H. Lacson (formerly Gov. Forbes) Avenue in Sampaloc, Manila, police swooped down on the area last night and arrested an alleged male sex worker caught in the act of offering sex for a fee to a police asset.

Inspector Enrique Pegalan, commander of the Magsaysay police community precinct, identified the suspected callboy as Randy Cayme, 20, of 863 Instruccion st., Sampaloc.

Pegalan said he launched the operation against male sex workers in the area following numerous calls and a letter complaint of one Sister Elena Enriques of the Dominican School (an exclusive boys school) along A.H. Lacson Avenue. The stretch of the road is also home to the University of Sto. Tomas, UST Hospital and two elementary and secondary schools. – Pete Laude and Nestor Etolle
