QC job fair set tomorrow

-
Some 30 business establishments, including employment agencies deploying workers overseas, will participate in the city government’s jobs fair tomorrow at the Quezon City covered walk way from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The jobs fair, called "Hanapbuhay 2001 – Serbisyong Bayan ni Mayor Sonny Belmonte" is the first to be undertaken by the city government under Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr.

Industrial Relations Office chief Ignacio Santos Diaz Jr. said "Hanapbuhay 2001" is in line with Mayor Belmonte’s endeavors to improve the quality of life of city residents.

Under the program, job seekers will be hired by participating firms based on their qualifications and experience.

Meanwhile, a five-day food processing seminar and multi-activity service program are being held at the Quezon City Hall grounds.

The activities, called "Serbisyong Bayan Para Sa Kabuhayan at Kalusugan" aims to provide livelihood, health and nutrition services to city residents.

The activities, undertaken by the city government in coordination with the Queon City Parent-Teacher-Community Federation, spell out Mayor Belmonte’s commitment to build an ideal community as envisioned by the city’s founding father, the late President Manuel L. Quezon.
