Taiwanese shot dead at Parañaque casino parking lot

A Taiwanese national was shot and killed by a Filipino-Chinese businessman at the Casino Filipino parking lot in Sucat, Parañaque City yesterday morning.

Computer firm executive Ko Liang Wang, 44, a resident of 17 Nazareth St., Airport Village, Parañaque, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds at the Olivarez General Hospital.

Wang’s assailant, identified as William Lim of Binondo, Manila, is now hunted by the police after fleeing after the shooting.

Police Officer 2 Tome Roque, investigator-on-case, said the incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. while Wang was walking up to his Toyota Revo van with plate number WMK-833 at the parking lot of the casino on Imelda Avenue and Santo Niño street, in Sucat.

Wang, a vice president of Argon Technologies Inc., was about to board his van when Lim walked up from behind and fired several shots from a handgun.

According to a parking aide who witnessed the shooting, Lim ran to a scooter and sped off in the direction of Pasay while people at the parking lot rushed Wang to the hospital.

Probers are still investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old woman suffered a stab wound in her shoulder when she fought two men who allegedly snatched her cellular phone Thursday afternoon in Valenzuela City.

Police identified the victim as Nelayzza Carmelotez, married, a marketing director residing in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon, Valenzuela.

Suspects Alex Reyes, 21, of 3192 Interior 24 Pilar St., Manuguit, Tondo, Manila, and Ruben Lopez, 20 of 10 Marcos Highway, Moriones, Tondo were later arrested by the police.

Investigation showed that the incident happened at around 2 p.m. along McArthur Highway, Barangay Marulas.

Authorities said Carmelotez was talking on her Nokia 3310 cellular phone when the suspects approached her.

Police records showed that at knifepoint, one of two men ordered Carmelotez to hand him her cellular phone. The victim, however, resisted and shouted for help, prompting the suspect to stab her on the left shoulder while the other grabbed her cellular phone .
