Cops kill 1, wound another in shootout with robbers

-
Police engaged armed robbers in a shootout yesterday in Makati resulting in the death of one suspect and the injury of another.

According to SPO4 Quillano Molmisa of the Makati Police Homicide Division, all of the police precincts in the city were alerted last night after receiving three separate hold-up complaints.

The three victims Allan Bataller, 26, married of Apartment B, Atis st. Verdan Acres, Pamplona, Las Piñas City; Dennis Mallari, 27, of 8095 Progreso st., Barangay Guadalupe; and Christian Yango, 22, filed separate complaints before the Makati Police about the hold-up incidents which transpired in one night.

All three gave a similar description of the suspects as well as the vehicle they were using.

Inspector Alex Daniel of the Makati police was conducting a stake out along Vito Cruz st., when he spotted the suspects’ vehicle and immediately gave chase. The chase ended at the Merville Subdivision Exit along the South Expressway in Taguig.

The responding mobile patrol caught up with the vehicle at the toll gate of the Philippine National Construction Corporation which prompted the suspects to ram the barrier in an attempt to escape.

A shootout ensued and the three suspects were hit.

Balatingao managed to get out of the vehicle and tried to escape but according to the police he fell to ground after several meters because of the gunshot wounds he sustained.

The two other suspects, identified as Raymond Solomon and a certain Ryan were rushed by the policemen to the Ospital ng Makati and the Pasig Provincial Hospital respectively.

Ryan was able to escape somewhere along the C-5 Road?

Southern Police District Director Jose Gutierrez, Jr. ordered a manhunt for the fugitive and an investigation into the escape incident.  Marvin Sy
