Holdup men kill woman

A 54-year-old woman was killed while two other jeepey passengers were wounded when two robbers shot them in Parañaque City the other day.

Killed was Jasmin Isip, married, of 95 San Gabriel St., San Antonio Village 12, Barangay San Isidro, who succumbed to gunshot wounds while being rushed to the Olivarez General Hospital.

Wounded were Steve Remolan, 48, and his wife Helen, 50, residents of 78 E. Abada St., Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

Superintendent Ronald Estilles, Parañaque City police chief, said the robbery took place at around 3 p.m. Thursday while the three victims were on board a passenger jeepney cruising along Quirino Avenue in Barangay San Dionisio.

When driver Johnny Mangabit slowed down the jeepney to a near halt due to traffic, two men armed with handguns suddenly got on board and announced the holdup.

At gunpoint, the three victims handed in their valuables. However, after getting the victim’s valuables, the robbers opened fire at the passengers before jumping off the vehicle and sped away on a red Yamaha motorcycle with plate number VD-7402. – Rainier Allan Ronda
