23 arrested for jueteng

Twenty-three persons suspected of being involved in the illegal numbers game of jueteng were arrested in Parañaque City Tuesday.
Southern Police District director Senior Superintendent Jose Gutierrez Jr. ordered the operation after receiving a report about the illegal gambling in Tramo Street, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
Inspector Rodolfo Inoy Jr. reported the confiscation of P1,240 in bets, four ledgers and other jueteng paraphernalia such as a rubber stamp marked" Kabihasnan Capitol".
All 23 persons are currently detained at the Parañaque City police headquarters awaiting to be charged at the City Prosecutors Office.
Gutierrez has stepped up his campaign against all types of illegal gambling particularly jueteng and video karera.
The district director ordered the seven chiefs of police under his command to eliminate all of the illegal gambling activities within the district or face the consequences. Marvin Sy
