Restaurant robbed in Makati City

-
Armed holdup men robbed the head office of a Japanese restaurant in Makati City yesterday and took off with some P100,000 in cash, the police said.

The robbery took place at around 10 a.m. at the office of the Ral Ken Ramen House located at 9703 Lawaan St., San Antonio village.

According to one of the employees, a well-dressed man in his mid-thirties knocked at the door of the general manager’s office seemingly to inquire about something.

But as soon as he entered the room, the man drew a cal. 45 pistol and announced the holdup. Four persons were inside the room at that time.

The gunman ordered four persons to lay face down on the floor before entering another room beside the general manager’s office. At gunpoint, he ordered Oscar Garcia, the restaurant’s general manager, to hand over the money.

According to the female employee, the gunman took out a hand grenade and threatened to blow up the place.

Moments later, a second gunman entered the office and ordered one of the female employees to surrender her ring. A mobile phone of one of the employees was also taken.

The employee noted that the heist took only a few seconds. The gunmen fled onboard two motorcycles driven by their companions who waited outside the establishment, witnesses said.

The security guard assigned at the entrance of the office was attending to a customer at the restaurant when the incident took place, the police said. – Marvin Sy
