Pesky cockroaches and rats roaming its corridors have proven to be the bane of employees and officials at the newly-constructed Makati City Hall.
The "plague" has reportedly reached alarming levels that the city’s personnel division chief, Mario Rodriguez, issued a memorandum prohibiting all employees from eating inside their offices so as not to lure more cockroaches and rats into the building.
It was learned that the cockroaches and rats have become a major embarrassment for city officials, including Mayor Jejomar Binay, when he takes people on a tour of the just-finished 22-story building.
Makati residents who visit City Hall have noted the big cockroaches and rats they see considering that the building had just been opened for business.
