Fake toilet items seized

-
Some P800,000 worth of fake toiletries were seized by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during separate raids conducted in Quiapo, Manila Thursday.

Raided by agents of the NBI’s Intellectual Property Rights Division were three stalls at the second floor of the Carriedo commercial center.

Seized from the stock rooms of the raided establishments were several boxes containing fake Lux, Vaseline and Sunsilk shampoos and Crème Silk conditioners.

According to the NBI, the raids were conducted after the lawyers for Procter and Gamble and Unilever Philippines filed a complaint for violation of the Intellectual Property Rights Code.

Charges for violation of the Intellectual Property Rights Code are now being readied against the owners of the raided stalls. – Mike Frialde
