10 suspected robbers rounded up by QC cops

-
Operatives of the Central Police District (CPD) have arrested 10 persons linked to a series of robberies, including snatching of cellular phones in Quezon City.

The first six suspects were identified as Vicente Bariso, 20; Christopher Tigolo, 20; Rodel Ganain, 21; Raymar Raymundo, 17, all residents of Marikina City; Mike Acosta, 18; and Arnel Arlegi, 21, both from Quezon City.

CPD director Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Tor said the six suspects were apprehended in a fastfood chain along Aurora Boulevard in Cubao, Quezon City at around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Tor said Allan Esteves positively identified the suspects as the persons who grabbed his 3210 mobile phone last Monday while he was on board a passenger jeepney bound for Marikina City.

Esteves said he sought the help of lawmen from the Cubao police detachment when he spotted the suspects in the food chain the following night. When frisked, lawmen found a caliber .22 revolver, two fan knives and one ice pick on the suspects.

Tor said the six suspects were behind the snatching of mobile phones in the Cubao area, particularly during rush hours.

The seventh suspect Jonathan Astrologo, 21, was nabbed for snatching the 3210 mobile phone of SPO3 Ferdinand Remodaro while the lawman was on board a passenger jeepney also in Cubao.

Remodaro chased Astrologo until he cornered the suspect along 15th Avenue.

The last three were allegedly behind an armed robbery in the office of Cholo Management Resources Inc., at Saint Francis Condominium on Potsdam Street, also in Cubao last Monday.

Police identified the suspects as Michael Chan, 19; Danilo Morales, 27; and Sonny Dariso, 20, all residents of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. – Cecille Suerte Felipe and Jaime Laude
