2 car theft suspects slain in QC

-
Two alleged members of the "Bukas-Kotse Gang" were killed yesterday in a shootout with policemen in Quezon City, six hours after they stole a car from a college student.

One of the fatalities was identified as Liberato Rabosa, a resident of Barangay Catmon, Malabon. The other victim remained unidentified as of press time. Both sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body and died on the spot.

Police are hunting two other armed robbers, who were able to escape during the shootout with operatives of the Central Police District (CPD). The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. along Sto. Tomas street n Galas, Quezon City.

A Station 1 police car was patrolling Banawe st. and Quezon Avenue after they received a report of a car stolen at about 10 a.m. in front of Siena College in Quezon City. Police said the stolen car was a red Nissan Sentra (TMJ-850) and that it might belong to a college student.

The mobile group spotted the carnapped vehicle in the area with four men inside. Policemen stopped behind the parked car and were about to make an arrest when the car spedoff, triggering a car chase which took them all the way to Sto. Tomas Street in Galas.

As they neared the place, three of the four gunmen inside opened fire at the cops, starting a shootout. Rabosa and the other slain robber, who were seated in the front passenger and driver’s seats, respectively, were hit as the car came to a halt.

Central Police District operatives were dismayed, however, when they found out that the two other suspects were able to escape. – Matthew Estabillo
