Robbers kill noodle maker in Chinatown

-
A Filipino-Chinese noodle maker was mauled to death after being robbed by unidentified men in his office in Binondo, Manila Sunday.

Police identified the victim as Chua Sing Tan, 55, of 830 Carmen Planas St., Binondo.

According to initial reports, Tan was counting his factory’s earnings at about 10:20 p.m. in his office near his house when two unidentified robbers barged in.

The robbers, reportedly armed with steel pipes, demanded that Chua give them the money. When the victim refused, the robbers beat him with the steel pipes until he fell bloody and unconscious to the floor.

After the victim fell, the suspects ransacked his office and escaped with the cash they found. — Mike Frialde
