Mugger kills Indian money lender

A 39-year-old Indian national was hacked and stabbed to death by a sword-wielding mugger before noon yesterday in Malabon City. Superintendent Ernesto Fojas, Malabon police chief, identified the victim as Amarjit Singh, native of Bilga, Jalandar, India, of 59 Sevilla Street, Grace Park, Caloocan City.
Suspect, David Donceras, jobless, of Block 15, Hasa-Hasa Street, Barangay Longos, Malabon is now being hunted.
Singh, a money-lender, was reportedly busy collecting payments from borrowers in Block 14-D, Hasa-Hasa Street in Barangay Longos, at around 11:15 a.m. when he was attacked by Donceras.
Armed with a samurai, the suspect approached Singh and announced a heist. But the victim fought back and Donceras assaulted Singh with his samurai, wounding the victim in different parts of the body and was fatally hit the chest, PO2 Peter Rios, said.
Sangguniang Kabataan chairman Gilbert de Jose rushed the victim to the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon but he was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Aster Sagun. – Pete Laude and Nikko Dizon
