Thieves break into car of judge in Vizconde case

-
The lady judge who tried the sensational 1991 Vizconde massacre case lost some P84,000 in cash and valuables to members of the notorious "Bukas Kotse" robbery gang in Malate, Manila, the other day.

Reports reaching the theft and robbery section of the Western Police District said that Judge Amelita Tolentino, 56, of the Parañaque Regional Trial Court Branch 274 also lost to the robbers four cellular phones and a set of law books.

Initial investigation showed that Tolentino parked her Mazda sedan at the parking lot of the Malate Church at about 7:15 a.m. last Sunday to attend Mass.

When she returned, she was surprised to discover that robbers had already broken into her car. Tolentino then reported the case to the WPD Theft and Robbery Section. Police are now tracking down the suspects. – Mike Frialde
