Baby drowns in septic tank

The search for a missing two-year-old girl ended in agony Thursday after police fished her out of an open septic tank under construction in Quezon City.
The baby, Carra Jannet Banay, of Brookside St., Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, died while receiving medical treatment at the East Avenue Medical Center.
The victims mother, Cecille, said her daughter had been missing since Wednesday. At about 12 p.m. the next day, she spotted a body floating in the septic tank.
Responding policemen fished the girls body out of the unfinished tank and rushed her to the hospital.
Banay expired at about 1:30 p.m. Police theorized that the victim was playing near the open tank when she slipped and fell in. Matthew Estabillo
