Two notorious female drug pushers who were nabbed by anti-narcotics operatives of the Western Police District (WPD) in a buy-bust operation Wednesday evening in Tondo were charged with drug trafficking by the Manila Prosecutors Office over the weekend.
District Drug Enforcement Group (DDEG) chief Chief Inspector Jose Mario Espino identified the suspects as Rosalinda Tan, alias Baby Intsik, 40, of Sampaloc street, Bo. Magsaysay, Tondo, and Virginia Datingguinoo, 37, of Kamias street, Bo. Magsaysay, Tondo.
Espino said the suspects had been placed under surveillance by his group after informants pointed to the two as the source of illegal drugs in Tondo.
Acting on a tip, Espino formed a team of operatives to conduct a buy-bust operation together with an informant who used to be an errand boy of the suspects.
Through the informant, a policeman posing as a buyer was able to convince the suspects to sell him P500 worth of shabu.
As the suspects received the marked money in exchange for a plastic sachet of shabu, plainclothes policemen posted nearby came to arrest the suspects.
Aside from the marked money, also recovered from the possession of the suspects were an undetermined quantity of shabu packed in plastic sachets. Nestor Etolle
