Masangkay ups lead in Muntinlupa

Muntinlupa mayoralty candidate Bess Aguilar Masangkay widened her lead over incumbent Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, according to the latest public opinion survey.
Aguilar Masangkay enjoyed a 15-percent edge, getting 54 percent compared to Fresnedi’s 39 percent. Seven percent of the 2,000 respondents remained undecided in the poll taken from April 23-30, barely two weeks before the May 14 elections.
The businesswoman-turned-politician enjoyed a 23-percent margin among women respondents, copping 58 percent as against her arrival’s 35 percent.
The Aguilar Masangkay’s camp expressed elation over the latest poll results, saying it was a "clear manifestation of the residents clamor for change" in Muntinlupa City.
The survey showed that Masangkay was also preferred by the younger set (aged 18 to 30) with a rating of 54.4 percent against Fresnedi’s 32.6 percent.
