Man shoots stepson

A night of good time and revelry turned bloody after a 46-year-old man lost his senses and shot his stepson after a heated argument during a drinking spree in Valenzuela City the other night.
Police identified the suspect as Reynaldo Florez, married, of Tiwala street, Dalandanan, Valenzuela.
His stepson, Eliverdo Chico, 26, married, also of Tiwala street, is now in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound in the chest.
Chief Inspector Salvador de la Cruz, head of the Valenzuela Police Station Investigation Branch (SIB), said that the incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. along M.H. del Pilar street, Mabolo, Valenzuela.
Prior to the shooting, Florez and Chico had been drinking beer with a neighbor, Efren Sarmiento.
Florez fled after shooting Chico n the chest but later surrendered to responding policemen headed by Police Superintendent Nemesio Neron, Valenzuela police chief.
Florez yielded a homemade caliber .38 hand gun with five live bullets and one spent shell. – Nikko Dizon
