"I am determined to protect the genuine sentiment of the people of Pasay City, thus, I am urging Pasayeños to be vigilant and thwart any attempt by ‘organized vote thieves’ to steal votes in favor of their political patrons," Trinidad said.
Trinidad’s call came in the wake of reports that an ‘imported’ organized unit is now in the city making plans to cheat for a candidate in the May 14 elections. "I have been cheated in the elections many times, but this time, I won’t allow it. I would see to it that the sanctity of the ballots will be thoroughly protected," the mayor said.
Trinidad also called on Comelec officials to remain steadfast and honest in carrying out their official duties, saying that the real loser in fraud-ridden elections are the people.
In support of Trinidad, some 8,000 members of the 20,000 strong Kabalikat ng Masang Pilipino (KAMPI) vowed to help the Comelec secure his votes and that of his running mates.
