Police continue probe on two headless bodies

Investigators are hopeful they will be able to identify before the end of the week the two headless bodies found in a grassy vacant lot in a village in Novaliches, Quezon City Monday.

Although the third victim, 16-year-old Kenneth Wong Asania, was identified about 10 hours after their corpses were spotted inside Cresta Verde Subdivision, Sta. Monica, Novaliches, the heads of the three remained missing as of press time.

Investigators hope to establish the identity of the two victims after receiving vital information from their assets on the case. However, Chief Inspector Rodolfo Jaraza, chief of the Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Division (CPD-CID), refused to reveal the developments pending further investigation.

"We are working round-the-clock to get to the bottom of this case. We hope to make a breakthrough within the week," Jaraza told The STAR.

Asania’s parents earlier sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for the immediate recovery of the boy’s head and identification and arrest of the killers.

Despite claiming the body of their only son, Pablo Asania, Kenneth’s father, said they could not find peace because they have not recovered the boy’s head and the killers remained scot-free.

"Di pa rin kami mapakali gusto naming Makita ang ulo nya at dapat mabigyan ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ng anak ko," (We are still bothered, we want to see his head and give justice to his death)," Pablo told The STAR in an earlier interview.

Jaraza, however, is less optimistic that they could recover the head of the three victims, noting that the killers could easily dispose of them, "but still we will try our best."
