Two men were arrested after a bungled robbery of a rookie policeman in Muntinlupa City early yesterday morning.
The suspects, identified as Delfin Artocilla, 21, a senior high school student, of Soldiers Hill Village, Barangay Putatan, and his cousin Roger Rellon, 28, of Payatas, Quezon City, are now detained at the Muntinlupa police detention center.
The two were arrested by Police Officer 1 Pedro Delgado, assigned with the Muntinlupa police community precinct 2, whom they tried to rob of his cash and valuables on board a jeepney cruising along the National Road at around 12:15 a.m.
Delgado was dozing aboard the jeepney when the two men woke him up, poking a knife at his side, and ordered him to hand over all his cash.
As in a scene in an action movie, Delgado jumped down the jeepney, pulled out his gun, and shouted for the driver to stop.
Pointing his gun at the duo, Delgado made the two surrender and he turned them over to his colleagues.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old vendor was stabbed dead by two neighbors who got irked by his noisy quarrel with his wife in Makati City Saturday night.
The victim, identified as Joji Algarre, resident of 452 PNR South, Barangay Magallanes, in this city, died of multiple stab wounds all over his body.
