5,000 X-rated VHS tapes confiscated

-
The Caloocan City police confiscated Wednesday nearly 5,000 pieces of fake VHS tapes, many of them foreign and local X-rated films, from two men who allegedly sell them to bargain-hunting customers for a measly sum.

Police arrested Emerson Pasion Cacho, 27, married, a scrap buyer, and resident of 72 F. Aguilar St., Balintawak, Quezon City, and Francisco Centeno, 40, married, carpenter, and resident of 127 Zapote Road, Bagong Barrio, Caloocan, during a buy-bust operation conducted Wednesday.

Cacho and Centeno are now detained at the city jail and have been slapped with gross violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 969 or the Anti-Obscenity Law, a bailable offense.

Chief Inspector Alfred Corpuz of the Station Intelligence and Investigation Division (SIID) said policemen had the suspects under surveillance for the past two weeks after receiving information about their illegal operation.

He said concerned parents reported the matter after they discovered that their children had purchased tapes of lewd movies from the suspects. – Nikko Dizon
