Man shot in Makati

A man was shot dead in what is presumed to be a failed drug deal in a squatters’ area in Makati City the other night.

PO2 Rio Bucalan, officer on case, identified the victim as Damilo Roa, 31, jobless of 4050 Bernardino St., Laperal Compound, Guadalupe Viejo.

Bucalan said the victim died after shoooting it out with an unidentified man in the Laperal Compound at around 10:55 p.m. last Friday. Residents recounted that they heard gunshots and saw the two men firing at each other.

The shooting stopped when Roa fell to the ground dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Initial investigation showed that the killing might have something to do with the illegal drug trade.

The Laperal compound along EDSA, aside from being a refuge for snatchers and pickpockets, has been identified by police as an area populated by drug pushers. – Marvin Sy
