1 killed, 2 hurt in QC shooting

A 22-year-old man was shot dead while his two friends were seriously injured when a group of unidentified armed men sprayed them with bullets early yesterday morning in Quezon City.

Mark Constante, of 153 Leonard Street, Barangay Holy Spirit, suffered gunshot wounds in the body. Bert Suniega, 23, and Jessie Destor, 24, both residents of Barangay Holy Spirit, sustained wounds.

Reports showed that the incident took place at about 1:05 a.m. along Dama de Noche Street, Holy Spirit. The victims were playing cards in front of their friend, Jimmy Faustino, the police said.

Without warning, the suspects appeared out of nowhere and started firing at the unsuspecting victims. Constante suffered at least five bullet wounds in the chest and stomach.

The armed men immediately fled the scene of the crime.

Police said the suspects must have been harboring a grudge against Constante and his friends. – Matthew Estabillo
