Businessman killed by his own employees

-
Police are on the hunt for five unidentified men who robbed and mauled to death their employer inside his house yesterday morning in Quezon City.

Victim Rosalio Bolata Jr., 40, single, a businessman, suffered a broken skull and severe head injuries and died inside his home at 371 Katipunan Avenue, Loyola Heights in Quezon City.

The suspects, two of whom were known only as Daniel and Danny, were reportedly employees of Bolata. They carted away at least P250,000 in cash and the victim’s . 9mm pistol.

According to reports, the incident took place at about 12 a.m. inside Bolata’s home. The victim was reportedly sleeping inside his room when the suspects forced their way inside the house.

It was not clear if Bolata had any companions inside his house at the time.

The men were armed with two large steel pipes, as they ganged up on Bolata and started hitting him. According to Senior Inspector Ruel Bacano, the suspects struck Bolata in the face and in the back of his head for several times.

The bloodied victim immediately collapsed as the suspects began ransacking the place, eventually taking the money, which was stashed in one of Bolata’s drawers.

Police said Bolata’s attackers left him dead inside his room, as they immediately fled on foot towards an undisclosed area.

Meanwhile, patrolling policemen discovered the body of a 35-year-old driver inside his taxi early yesterday morning in Fairview, Quezon City.

The victim, identified as Jose Antonio Malony 35, a resident of 116 Major Street, Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City, was found dead with several stab woulds in the body.

According to reports, policemen, led by Inspector Cesar Girante, were patrolling the area along Don Mariano Marcos Avenue, North Fairview at about 1:35 a.m.

Authorities spotted a parked Toyota Corolla taxi cab with plate numbers PWE-703 parked along a dimly-lit portion of the street with its headlights still on.

As police checked, they found the lifeless body of Malony slumped on the driver’s seat. Police believe he was a victim of robbery because his money and other valuables were missing.

Follow-up operations are now being conducted by the police for the immediate identification and arrest of the suspects. Matthew Estabillo
