March 3, 2001 | 12:00am
Caloocan police operatives arrested one of their own for molesting a beer joint waitress early Friday morning in Caloocan City.
Nabbed for mashing and threatening waitress Marilou Santos was SPO1 Mario "Lindy" Galindez of the Northern Police District Intelligence Unit (DPIU). His companion, Cornelio Maestro Jr., 44, of Meycauayan, Bulacan was also held on charges of coercion.
Santos, 19, working at the Welcome Disco Pub said Galindez also slapped her and poked his gun to intimidate her.
Police records showed Galindez and Maestro were drunk when they barged into the private quarters of the joint’s waitresses. Santos, who was then asleep was wakened and asked what they were doing at the ladies’ quarters. Instead of answering, Santos said Galindez started mashing her. When she resisted, Galindez slapped her. She added that the suspect also whipped out his sidearm and threatened her with harm if she tried to get out of the room.
Unknown to the suspect, one of her co-workers managed to call Community Police Precinct 5 operatives who responded and arrested the suspects. – Jerry Botial and Nikko Dizon
