-
Bodies of a man and a woman in an advance stage of decomposition were found inside a van parked at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Pasay City yesterday.

Police identified the fatalities as Rommel Pagunawan, 27, married, employee, and resident of 8913 Obrero St., Barangay Olympia, Makati City and Michelle Diego, 22, single, college student, and resident of 563 J.P. Rizal St., in the same barangay in Makati.

Investigation conducted by Senior Police Officer 1 Nonilo Francisco showed the couple was found in the back passenger seats of a Nissan Vannette with plate number TLT-824 parked near the corner of Guerrero and Palisoc streets inside the complex at about 9:15 a.m. – Rainier Allan Ronda

The discovery was made by vendor Buenvenido Almonte, 42, who told police he was alerted of the presence of the bodies by the foul smell emanating from the van.

It was learned that the van had entered the CCP complex 9 p.m. of Feb. 4. The prober said the cause of death was most likely "carbon monoxide poisoning" as no wounds were found in the bloated bodies. – Rainier Allan Ronda
