Man kills neighbor over clothes line in Valenzuela

-
For claiming ownership of a laundry wire, a 48-year-old man was gunned down by his neighbor the other day inside his house in Lawang Bato, Valenzuela City.

Victim Alfonso Pallan, a resident of 54 Calle Onse, Sapang Bakaw, Arty Subdivision in Lawang Bato, suffered gunshot wounds in the chest and forehead and died on the spot.

Police are looking for the suspect, identified as Nonito Sait, the victim’s neighbor, who immediately fled after the shooting.

According to reports, the incident took place at about 12:30 a.m. inside Pallan’s home in Lawang Bato. The victim apparently got irked after he found the suspect’s clothes hanging on the laundry wire outside his house.

Pallan then confronted his neighbor after which the two had a heated argument over who really owns the clothes line. After hurling insults at the suspect, the victim retreated to his room to sleep.

But a few hours later, Sait took out a rifle and barged inside the victim’s home. He roused Pallan from sleep and challenged him to a duel.

The victim took out a knife and lunged at Sait. The suspect however, was able to duck and fire several shots at Pallan who instantly died.

Meanwhile, police arrested on Sunday a 21-year-old vendor, who in jealous rage, punched and killed a 16-year-old boy in Valenzuela.

Suspect Rico Santos, of Block 2, Sitio Kabatuhan, Gen. T. De Leon, is now detained at the city police detention cell as he awaits charges of homicide to be filed against him.

The victim, Michael Tinasa, who suffered a single blow to the face, was taken to the city’s district hospital but expired while receiving medical treatment. Reports showed that the incident took place at about 12:30 p.m. right in front of the house of Santos in Sitio Kabatuhan.

The victim was having a chat with Santos’ live-in partner, Emily Villaser, when the suspect spotted the two hollered something at Villaser. –Matthew Estabillo
